7th Grade Whales (Mid season report)
RegardsSteve Thorpe
7th Grade Sharks (
Mid season report)The
players in the team have molded together very well and are having a lot of fun
each Saturday. Unfortunately
we have not had a lot of wins this season (we have had some!) but at least the
team is improving with each game. Everyone
shows great commitment at the practices but they are not so keen on the
running and fitness training (neither is the coach though). We
hope to finish the last few games with wins!
7th Grade Orcas
7th Grade Seals (Mid season report)
The 7th grade Seals has had a mixed season of
wins and losses. But the best
result coming from great improvements being made by all the players each
Saturday. As the season has progressed the team has worked on identified
areas to improve in and practiced these skills at each practice.

8th Grade Cougars (Mid season report)
This is to do with the nomads 8 cougars.
Our team has come a long way with only 6 players to start off the game with and
than we were joined with one more player.
All of the boys play really good together. And they are begining to figure out
the game. With our practices they are able to figure out where the ball is
suppose to go and who is suppose to have it.
All of the boys have tried very hard during the games to achieve a goal. A big
thank you to the boys that have scored goals for the team thru out the season.
They have all done a great job. Well done Cougars.
Thank you Janet Sampson (coach)

12 A
The
12thA squad had a very good first round. Winning 4, drawing 2, losing

The
second round started slowly as had to default 1 game due to half the team having
the flu.

lose 1 win
Our
team has got a lot of potential when they put their minds to it. They seem to
gain confidence when they can score 1st and get better as
the game progresses.

13 Girls (Mid season report)
The 13th grade girl’s team is a mixture of 10 to 14 year olds. Some players have never played before but with just over half way into the season the team have bonded really well with a lot of conviction in their efforts on the field and most importantly they are having a good time.
We
have had more wins than losses, thanks in large part to some excellent goal
scorers within the team.
It’s
a competitive competition and currently we are placed third on the table.
The girls are keen to get back into action after a 2 week break. Anything is possible at this point, including a high placing if we can bring a good defensive game together when we next play the leading teams.

From the very start of the season it was evident that we had a very good and well balanced team. Everyone was keen to play well and also enjoy themselves. We welcomed Troy, Andrew and Sam to our team. So as you can probably guess we have had a successful season so far. We have played 13 games, won 11 and lost 2.
Unfortunately for Josh knee problems ended his season after just a few weeks. Recently Andrew has been promoted to the Premier Side and Jamie has broken his arm.
Game statistics so far are goals
for 34, against 13, difference + 21. Both grading games were won as were all but
2 games in the first round. We actually finished the first round with the same
points and goal difference as North Canterbury but came first as they had scored
one more goal than us.
This year all points were wiped after the first round with the second round being the round robin competition.
So far we have played and won 4 games scoring 12 and only conceding 3 goals. Goal difference and points are both 9 and we lead the competition. There are 3 games left of the round robin before the knockout competition.
Every week the team has been supported by a large number of parents, grand parents and siblings. The individual skills, hunger for the ball, and willingness to distribute to each other has provided us all with many memorable moments. The players all seem to connect and support each other so well any where on the pitch.
Congratulations and thank you to every one who has had anything to do with this team so far for the excellent way you have promoted Nomads and the sport of soccer.

Grade Premier Report (Mid
season report)
The 10th grade Premier team are having an extremely successful season. This is their first year of competitive soccer and all the boys are applying themselves extremely well. It took a few games for the boys to bond together as a unit, but now they are playing some very consistent games.
Under the superb tuition of Tony Bennett, the boys have won 10 and drawn 2 of the 13 games to date. The only loss was against Halswell whom we trail by one point on the table. The return match is yet to come so here’s hoping for success in that game. To date we have scored 38 goals and conceded just 8 (4 of which were in our first game which we won 5-4 !)
All the games are being played in competitive spirit, and good positional play is enabling us to control a large percentage of possession.
There is some real talent in this team, here’s hoping for a successful end to the season. All the top teams still have to play each other in the second round so anything could happen in this league.
