7th Grade Whales (Mid season report)

Despite having one of the youngest 7th grade teams in the competition, every week the boys give 100%.Most of the Whales are first time players,so we had to start with the basics.Even turning around at half time had to be explained! Each week has seen an improvement in skills as the boys learn and show the coach what they have remembered from practices. It’s great to see the players enjoying their soccer with the support of a  great bunch of parents sideline.

 Coach: Geoff Hyde

7th Grade Orcas  (Mid season report)

The Orcas have enjoyed the first half of the season with most of our 7 players new to soccer this year.  This has seen some mixed results with wins, loses and even a draw so far.  However the improvements in skills and team play are showing through now and with the continued encouragement of parents and supporters the Orcas look set to storm home in the second halve of the season.

Coach - Paul Rogers

7th Grade Dolphins (Mid season report)

The Dolphins are steadily improving their soccer skills as the season progresses. The team is enthusiastic and is beginning to work together in both defending and attacking play. Continued improvement should see
more goals scored, and games won.

Coach: Barry Loe

7th Grade Stingrays (Mid season report)

The team is enjoying their season so far. The boys are showing great improvement in game skills since the begining of the season. Coach Tim Allen has the team playing well together as a team unit and everybody is having fun.

8th Grade - Leopards  (Mid season report)

An enthusiastic, happy team of boys and girls who are improving with every game.
We have an excellent turnout for practices and match-day.  Every player has improved their skills and fitness from the beginning of the season.
The team has improved with every game and we recently had our 1st win, which was satisfying for all, as there were calls to sack the Coach/Manager!!

An enjoyable team to coach.

8th Grade The Lions (Mid season report)

A tough start to the year for the mighty Lions with 'The Coach' new to football and 7 energetic and loud boys ready for action. After a few training sessions everyone found their place and it has been all go from there. The team is going great guns in a real tough competition. Conner has been leading the way in scoring over 12 goals already. So far he has scored in every game. Jack at 5 years old was dragged into the team and has shown great commitment with playing with boys way above his size. Dean and Sean have come along way with confidence improving each game. Ashley is unsure of what game he is playing at times, but his defence has saved our skin plenty of times. Blake has found out how to score goals and is enjoying his time in the spot light. We welcome Jacob to the team who has great skill and patience for such a young lad. Onward and Upwards for the 'Mighty Lions'!!

Coach: Ashley Newsome

8th Grade Panthers   (Mid season report)

Well it was a great start to the season!  A 7 – 2 win and then 4 wins in a row.  Unfortunately since then we have had 2 losses and 2 draws but everyone in the team is still very enthusiastic!  Most of the team are from the 7th Grade Sharks last year but our two new comers (Shaylah and James) have been excellent additions.  Once again the parents of the players have been fantastic supporters!

9th Grade Crows  (Mid season report)

The 9th Grade Nomad Crows have started the season solidly and are continuing to develop thier individual skill sets. Thier positional play is begining to take advantage of the larger paddock available. (Thier coach is also having to become fitter for the same reason)

Coach David Newton

9th Grade Eagles (Mid season report)

Hi, from the 9th grade Eagles we have lost only one game and drawn one to date. We have scored 21 goals with the majority coming off Jack’s boot and have conceded only 8. A great team that that is bonding well.

Coach Riki Koster

9th Grade Keas (Mid season report)

We have a great bunch of boys/ girls this year. They play together really great. There are a few more rules to understand and the kids are doing really good figuring them out.   With our practices they are able to figure out where the ball is suppose to go and who is suppose to have it.They have all picked up the skill of how to move the ball and pass it around.
All of the boys/girls have tried very hard during the games to achieve a goal. A big thank you to the boys/girls that have scored goals for the team thru out the season. They have all done a great job. Well done Keas.

10th Grade Bears  (Mid season report)

The season started off a little disorganized for the Bears, as we were finding out our strengths and weaknesses . We have been concentrating and working hard on keeping our positions, center passing on attack, and of late, our defense. I'm glad to say, we are all getting to know where we should be on the field now, and its making a big difference in our game. We would have liked one or two more wins under our belt, but in saying that, individually and as a team we are improving week by week, so I know those wins will come. In the mean time, its hard to take the knocks, so I do take my hat off to the Bears for keeping there chins up and giving it there all, "kids, you are doing your coach proud". And to the fantastic support crew that we see and here on the side line every Saturday, thank you, you do give us a boost.   GO THE BEARS !!!!

After a start stop beginning with byes and bad weather the team has now settled into the season proper. The grading games were all difficult for us and being placed into section two is a fair reflection of the teams ability. Most of the boys are now playing in their correct positions although this still requires some fine tuning. Finding the right balance between attack and defense continues to be the biggest challenge. Trainings are very well attended, for which we are grateful to the parents for making the effort and already improvements are being seen on Saturdays that reflect work being done during these sessions. All boads well for a great season ahead with a great bunch of keen kids.

 Cheers Graeme Harley.... Coach

12 A   (Mid season report)

The team is in section one and this is proving to be a difficult as the top teams have plently of premier experience and are well organized. After finishing the first round finally, there is a clear top four and bottom four, which is where we lie. The boys are leaning to work hard at trainning on their basic skills to match the top teams. Come game day the team are keen and  do lift their performance but need to stay focus for the whole game. The boys are  having fun and enjoying playing and still have alot of pride to play for as they head into the second round.

13B  (Mid season report)

Hi followers of the magnificent game!

The 13B team has done well in the weather affected first round. The Team has scored 22 goals and had 27 against not bad for a team made up of mixed ability. At practice under lights all working hard on fitness and ball skills which has improved since our first game.Team work at game time has been helped along with the soccer world-cup also our enthusiatic side line supports. The team finished 3rd out of 5 in our section, the top 2 teams moved up a section and 1 came down to ours.Roll on round 2 with the help of good weather it should be great.
                       Keep playing & scoring
                                               Colin & Clayton

13 Girls (Mid season report)

The 13th grade girl’s team has a solid nucleus of players from last year’s team. We had initial fears that we would not have enough players for a team with only 9 signed up at the beginning of the season. These fears were unfounded as the team has swelled to 15. We are a better team than last year and we need to be as the competition is harder. So far we have 3 wins and 3 draws. If we can convert some of these draws in to wins we could finish high up the table.

Great support as always from the parents.

The girls are having fun and we are looking forward to the rest of the season.

10th Grade Premier  Report Nomads (Mid season report)

There was a very nervous start to the season for everyone involved in the 10th grade premiers, with no one really knowing what to expect. It was a great first result with a win. The team are a very talented group of players. We have won 5, drawn 1, lost 1 to be second on the table. The last two games proved the most challenging. We now look forward to the second half of the season, knowing we have the ability to beat any team on any day.

11th Grade Premier Grade – Nomads  (Mid season report)

11th Grade Premiers are playing well.  We are currently equal 5th position.  Next two games points are essential as the competition will be split into the top 6 / bottom 5.  All of the boys at some point during the season have personally  contributed well and played some very good soccer.  As coaches and parents we hope that some World Cup magic will rub off on the lads!

13th Grade Premier Grade – Norwesters  (Mid season report)

Premier Youth

Dispite having only 8 players for the first game of the season, the squad is looking quite good now with a band of 15 players. there has been mixed results and out of the eight games played we have won four and lost four. the guys are a good bunch with a lot of talent but some inept officiating has resulted in some bad loses which upsets moral, but they play there games without any disent towards the referees unlike other teams and for that you have to admire them.

if we can start training and playing again once the weather clears off i am certain we can turn the season around.

Steve Walker Coach.
